Diabetes infusion set product overview

Learn more about our complete range of soft cannula and stainless steel infusion sets that give users the flexibility to choose the product that suits them best.*

What is an infusion set?

Infusion sets play an important role in insulin pump therapy - they connect the pump to the body and deliver the insulin.

The main components of an infusion set are:

An image of an infusion set belonging to a component description next to it. ;

A – Cannula housing:

a plastic housing with a soft cannula or steel needle that is attached to the skin by an adhesive tape

B – Soft cannula or steel needle:

a small soft cannula or steel needle that is inserted into the subcutaneous skin layer and that allows the insulin to flow into the body

C – Tubing:

a plastic tube that allows insulin to flow from the insulin pump to the body

D – Site connector:

a connector that clicks into the cannula housing and connects the plastic tubing to the infusion site. It allows for temporary disconnection of the pump.**

E – Pump connector:

a connecting lock that connects the plastic tubing to the insulin pump

To best accommodate user needs and preferences, different infusion sets are available with options for tubing and cannula length, insertion angle, cannula material, as well as the choice between manual insertion and insertion using an integrated insertion device. *

On this page, you will find more information about our current product range. For detailed instructions on usage, please refer to the instructions for use.

*Please note that the choice of infusion set will always need to be discussed with a healthcare professional.
**For our contact™ detach infusion set, the site connector does not connect to the cannula housing but to an additional plastic housing at a separate site where it allows for disconnection.
